New year new projects

After a difficult few months dealing with family issues, we have returned to recording and filming. The song, Find My Way, is one I wrote some time back, but decided to revisit. It was actually written to give my daughter something to practice her lead guitar playing . I had not really considered working further on it. I used my Roland keyboard D20 and sequencer , so the whole thing sounded a bit dated, but the basics were there. Having heard it again, we deicded it would be a good contrast to previous songs and it was a lot of fun to record and to film. Steve played everything on the track, real instruments this time, as well as recording it, I had the easy job of just doing the vocals. The intital plan was to get together a band and film us, but that was just too easy! Steve came up with the idea of having me transform into all the members of the band. We had the lovely Jen Gilling with us on the shoot, working her magic to turn me into three guys and another girl. Sarah directed me and arranged the lighting. All I had to do, was follow instructions and try not to fall down laughing every time I caught sight of myself in a mirror! There were long hours for transformations and we ended up spreading the shoot acorss two days . Once we had the footage, it was then down to Steve to turn that, into the video you now see. Many days of getting his head around how to arrange all the versions of me into a sequence that made sense. I think we’ve ended up with something fun and very different from my usual songs in addition, we’ve all learnt a huge amount. I definitely learnt how horribly hot and itchy a beard is! We have now recorded the song we want to film for next, of which , more soon.
