Time Is So Short

Time Is So Short

At long last and despite the chaos created everywhere by the virus, the music video for Time Is So Short, is done. Steve has worked his magic and made it look wonderful. We had great plans for this video, before the virus hit, with a list of lovely locations to film at. Those were obvioulsy out of the question, so we were stuck with the house and gardens. We created little sets in various locations around the house, some of which are more obvious than others, but overall, I’m really happy with the way it looks. It was frustrating at times, but it has been very instructive as we’ve used techniques that in normal situations, we might not have needed. It’s a steep learning curve, filming, always an effect that you’d like, which is just out of reach! Well, it’s out of reach unless your budget will stretch to many thousands of pounds just for a lens! I think, unless we win the lottery, it’s always going to be the case, but these problems are good to deal with and overcome in your own way. My painted stained glass panels eventually got finished and included in the video. As I strained my eyes trying to paint the knight in his chain mail, I did question my wisdom there, but I don’t like to be beaten. I have a place in the garden for that, with trailing plants spilling over the arch. If we need to keep filming on location at home, it will doubtless be visible in future videos. Being at home so much, tidying the garden, weeding, trimming back, cutting grass and taking my time, rather than racing around trying to fit everything into the day, it’s allowed me to focus on how very lucky we are. Many millions of people worldwide are suffering in poverty and here we are, safe in the quiet, beautiful Welsh countryside. There are limitations, or course there are, but so much to be grateful for. Along with the rest of the world, I wonder if things will ever return quite to the normal we were all experiencing before Corona virus. The planet has had a chance to catch its breath, that cannot be all bad and lots of us will have found new ways to live, new ways to achieve and problem solve. We now move on to the next music video, taking forward with us all the lessons learnt in filming Time. Quite a different project,of which, more later. As ever, a million thanks to everyone who has taken the time to get in touch, always appreciated.
